More Than A Dance School

A Unique Experience

We always find new ways to have fun while we learn to dance, like our Halloween costume class! with a costume contest included!!! or when we danced on top of Bear Mountain and much more!

Dance Is Life

To make sure everyone can be part of the school we make events and free classes around New York City. Great music and a lot of dancing in the most iconic places in the city.

As a staff, we are examples of being friendly and kind to everyone, to ensure that all of New York City keeps seeing us as the dance school with the most friendly and fun environment in the city!!!

Philosophy as a school

For us this is much more than just dancing or teaching. We’re passionate about what we do, we love to dance and we have been doing this for so many years, that we know, it is more than just dance.
We started to dance out of curiosity, because we were bored, looking for something new/challenging, to have fun, because of a friend, maybe we wanted to meet a girl/guy 😉 haha, to show off, to meet people/make friends and many more reasons, all valid reasons. It will not take long for you to realize that you can learn how to dance and achieve the things I mentioned and even more because we did, we experienced all that and more, much more.
That’s why we set up a place, a school with high values, creating events to socialize, extra curricular activities, a welcoming experience for each of our new students, fomenting and encouraging the friendship and comradery and non-competitive environment, also, you’ll learn to dance really well. We don’t want people spending a lot of time and a bunch of money to be frustrated with their dance skills, we build the best dancers on the dance floor. 🕺💃

Our classes are welcoming, warm, non judgmental, chill and really focused on having fun, always keeping in mind that we want to have strong dance skills.

So we await you with our arms open and we’re ready to help you navigate this wonderful path of the dance life!

Teo - Owner & Main Salsa Instructor

Hi! My name real name is Renzo Gomez (Known also as Teo); I’m Argentinian and a salsa lover. My love for Latin dancing started 15 years ago. It all began as something that I did almost by accident and wasn’t good at, and quickly it started to be more and more important in my life, becoming my biggest passion.

Like everyone else at the beginning, I wasn’t a good dancer but with time and dedication I became better and better and that’s why I know that everyone can do it.

So, I invite you to join me in this dream that I’m in, a dream of creating an amazing dance school where everyone feels good, and confident, creating a safe environment so people can come and forget about the problems of life and just fully enjoy it. I invite you to be part of the growth of what will be the greatest dance school ever in NYC.

Lexa - Main Salsa Instructor

Hey there! Mi name is Lexa! I started salsa dancing about 7 years ago when I moved to New York City (and I caught the Salsa Fever pretty much immediately). For me, salsa is about connection, creativity and most of all, community. My favorite memories include spontaneous dances with strangers as well as moments with my dance family. I am so grateful to be making new memories with Salsa Sabrosa!

Mariano - Main Bachata Instructor

To dance is to reach a word that does not exist. Perform a song of a thousand generations. Feeling the meaning of a moment. (Beth Jones)

Few words like these manage to express what dance really means.
And it is, yes, when we dance, everything changes; Every movement, heartbeat, every vibration connects our being with something else…

Now you wonder, why am I reading this? Because I want this not to be the typical presentation “Hi, I’m Mariano, I’ve been dancing for 15 years, and this has changed my life”.
I’m looking for these words to also connect with what you feel every time you listen to your song, when you close your eyes, furrow your brow and chase the pulse of the music with just a click. Just like you, I am also part of it, and I want to find that which is inexplicable for so many but awakens such deep emotions and wants to help you capture it at every movement.

Do you already have it? Yes now!…
Hi, I’m Mariano; I’ve been dancing for 15 years in this wonderful world of salsa and bachata.
I have participated in international and national competitions in my country Argentina, organized events and competitions, traveled through Europe, and participated in plays as a dancer, and, Yes, it changed my entire life. But you know what? This is no longer about me a while ago; Join this beautiful Salsa Sabrosa community, and let’s build your story together.

Sofia - Main Bachata Instructor

Hola, My name is Sofia! Dancing is in my blood, I was raised dancing salsa and bachata as a family tradition, but it wasn’t until I came to New York City that I started dancing regularly. For me, dancing is what gives life sazón (flavor).  Some of my fondest memories of dancing are when teaching children and fostering an amazing community of incredibly talented people. I’m super excited and grateful to have the opportunity of sharing my passion through Salsa Sabrosa!
